Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what VANA ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers our website and the VANAlite desktop application.

The short version

  • VANAlite captures your screen to analyze your work. Screenshots are processed in memory, sent securely to our AI provider for analysis, and never stored on our servers or written to your disk.
  • We don't sell your data, and we don't use your screen content to train models.
  • You stay in control of when VANAlite is watching — start and stop at any time.

Information we collect

  • Account & billing. When you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects your email and payment details. We receive your subscription status and a customer identifier — never your full card number.
  • Screen content (VANAlite). While you have watching enabled, or when you ask VANA a question, the app captures a screenshot of your screen and sends it for analysis to generate critique and answers.
  • Local settings. Your preferences, license key, and recent conversation are stored locally on your device, not on our servers.

How VANAlite handles your screen

Screenshots are held only in memory long enough to send them to our AI provider (Anthropic) for analysis. We do not persist screenshots, we do not retain them after a response is generated, and they are not used to train any model. Analysis happens over encrypted connections.

How we use information

  • To provide the critique, scoring, and assistant features.
  • To process subscriptions and provide support.
  • To maintain security and improve reliability of the service.

Service providers

  • Anthropic — AI analysis of screen content and chat. Subject to Anthropic's data handling terms; not used for training.
  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
  • Vercel — hosting of our website and APIs.

Data retention

Screen content is not retained. Billing records are retained as required for tax and accounting. You can request deletion of your account data at any time.

Your choices

  • Start/stop watching and quit the app at any time.
  • Cancel your subscription, which stops future billing.
  • Request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.

Teams

If your organization deploys VANAlite, your administrator controls visibility settings. Where metrics are shared with supervisors, your organization is responsible for informing team members and obtaining any required consent.

Children

VANA is not intended for anyone under 18.

Changes

We'll update this policy as the product evolves and revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated to subscribers.
